Operational Structure Of This P.E.A. Program
How This Program Operates And Is Organized

imagePerpetual Eucharistic Adoration
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is a program where the Most Blessed Sacrament, our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, is placed in a Monstrance and adored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year long. Except for stopping for the Sunday 9AM & 11AM Mass's, cleaning of the chapel, Chrismas Eve, Christmas Day and the Easter Triduum, adoration of the Eucharist at St. Francis Chapel is continuous. Unscheduled stoppage, such as for bad weather, happens occasionally.

One person must be in attendance before our beloved Lord at all times when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the Monstrance, however, two people are the Church norm for adoration of this type. To accomplish this two people are recruited for each hour of the whole week thru various means. Each person volunteers to adore our beloved Lord at a specific hour once a week, each week, for a certain number of months (or years) that they determine. Their weekly commitment to this lasts as long or as short as they want. It is hoped, however, that the commitment will be for a sufficient length of time to help keep this program going. Many adorers choose to make a lengthy commitment (many months and years) because of their love for our Lord and because the setup of our program makes it easy to get a substitute. Each adorer is backed up by an "Hour Coordinator" who is part of the P.E.A. Program Management Team (see next paragraph).

The P.E.A Program Management Team
The Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Program Management Team is a group of weekly adorers who also volunteer to help manage all the adorers and hours the chapel is open. Their basic function is to make sure someone (preferably two people) is in attendance before our beloved Lord at all times. This team consists of 24 Hour Coordinators, 4 Division Leaders, an two Head Coodinators. Each Hour Coordinator oversees one hour seven days a week (such as Noon- 1PM seven days a week). He answers adorers questions, solves their problems, and (in emergency's only) finds a substitute for them or fills in for them himself. The Hour Coordinators are backed up by a Division Leader who oversee six Hour Coordinators, The Division Leader helps the Hour Coordinators in their duties and fills in for them when their gone. The two Head Coordinators oversee this entire program and backup the Hour Coordinators and Division Leaders in their duties. The Head Coordinators for this St. Francis Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Program are Colleen Lewis (Home: 922-2902/ Cell: 883-6081) and her assistant Tom Walt (947-5409). The structure of this program, including a generous list of Substitute Adorers for people to call, tends to lead to the P.E.A. Management being busy only occasionally.
